Action Shooters opens new Southern California office

Action Shooters Inc has just opened a new professional sports photography facility in southern California in order to better serve the Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties youth sports markets. The new office and state of art photography lab is located just off the 5 Freeway in Santa Fe Springs, near the Orange/Los Angeles county lines.

Action Shooters Toby Oliver and Mike Szobonya, who both transferred from Action Shooters in northern California, are running the new facility. Office hours are :from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Saturday hours vary.

The new lab manager is Tony Truong, who has been in the photo processing business since 1994, and comes from Sanford Studio Inc of Whittier, CA. The new facility is equipped with two Noritsu 2102 paper printers and a Noritsu 4100 film processor, and is capable of handling tournaments of more than 200 teams.

"The new facility will allow us to better serve our tournaments and leagues here in southern California, and allow us to do more events. Before we had to process everything at our northern California lab, and then drive or fly the photos overnight to southern California," said CFO Toby Oliver.

The new fac ility is already cranking out the prints, recently doing the Riverside Locomotion, Snickers State Cup, Chevrolet Open Cup, several baseball leagues and tournments, as well as a couple of tournaments in Arizona.

"Parents have been great, and are really excited by the quality and quantity of photographs they get from us compared with some of the other companies out there," said CFO Oliver.

To get to the new facility, take 1-5 and exit Valley View Boulevard in Santa Fe Springs. From the north, exit at Valley View and make an immediate hard right onto the access road (Firestone Blvd.), which runs along the :freeway. From the south, exit Valley View; turn left at the light, then left again at Valley View. Take Valley View over the freeway and make an immediate left at the first light. Make a left onto Firestone just before reaching the southbound Onramp to 1-5. Action Shooters Inc is located in the second building on the left, on the north side of the building.

"Yeah a lot of guys will come in and say 'we'll give you 10 percent' or more. But then you have to say, '10 percent of what?'" said CFO Oliver. "Five percent of 3,000 is more than 10 percent of 1,000."

"We take more quality photographs per player, so we are able to generate more revenue per parent," he said.
